Hopefully, it’s not too late to wish you a Happy New Year! We’re beginning the year with a plethora of upgrades, affecting the platform, infrastructure and more.
For starters, we’re are switching to containerization, using docker, for all WordPress applications we host. Each application would live in its own virtual environment, with all its dependencies.
Work on this has already began, and we hope to complete by middle of February. We’ll continue to post updates on this on our blog.
There are a good number of other improvements planned, which would be carried out in the course of the year. We’ll announce them as and when we get to them.
In view of the upgrades, our small team of Engineers have been spread thin. We are, therefore, slowing down on some services, until, at least, the first phase is done.
While the bulk of services will continue unaffected, we are slowing down on services that require provisioning of new servers. Specifically, we are not rolling out new servers for WordPress VPS plans.
If the first phase is successful, we may not need to roll out VPS plans at all going forward, but this is yet to be concluded.
You’re encouraged to reach out to support for any clarification you may need.
We’re happy to have you with us on this exciting journey into the future. Once again, Happy New Year!
